Candle Lantern

This is absolutely one of my favorite things!

A Candle Lantern that I can decorate for any occasion.

One of the main reasons that I love it so much is because Brandon and Christina gave me this candle lantern for Christmas.

I've got so many ideas for it, but because Valentine's Day is coming, I went with that.

(Try and ignore my heart pajama bottoms reflecting in the glass!)

I started by downloading what I wanted on it from the Silhouette store.

Okay, that's a "keeping it real" photo for you. The picture on the right is what it looks like when you're in a hurry and forget to check what setting the blade is on.

I think it was set on 3, so I moved it down and re-cut.

I applied it to the front of the glass and when I want to change it out, I'll remove it with contact paper and save it.

I'm not getting anything for this for telling you, but the battery operated candle that I bought at Hobby Lobby for it, is awesome! It has a timer. You turn it on and it stays lit for 5 hours, goes off for 19 and then comes back on. You never have to mess with it. I know! Awesome, right?

I put vinyl on it, too.

The lantern looks great during the day, but at night...

It shines!

Thank you, Brandon and Christina!

It's a Party! #143

Can you believe it's party time already? This week is flying by.

Did you see the features this morning? If you missed them, they're Here. I started a pin board last week for all the features here on A Creative Princess. If you want to follow along, you can do that Here.

Also, a couple of weeks ago, I started sharing recipe's that I've tried and we all loved. So many times I've tried a new recipe that I found and it looked so good in the picture, but when I made it, it was a complete fail. So I thought it would be fun to share the ones that actually turned out and we liked. If you missed the Cinnamon Cream Cheese Wraps from last Saturday, be sure to check it out. You'll love them!

On Sunday's, I'm sharing fun printables that I stumble on in blogland. I've got to get to work on the Super Bowl Bingo cards that I posted about last Sunday for the Super Bowl party we're going to.

Here are a few more things that have been going on here since last week:

I made a Minky Scarf from scraps from my stash and CD Sports Clocks from old cd's.
Need a few fun and easy Valentine Ideas?  I shared some that I have done in the past.

Okay, enough of my jibber jabber. Let's get this party started!

Link up anything you want to share with us this week. It can be your fabulous craft, yummy recipe, giveaway, shop, etc.

I'll feature the Top 5 most viewed links next Wednesday.

I would love for you to follow A Creative Princess while you're here!

If you would like to grab an It's a Party button (on the sidebar) and post it on your blog somewhere, that would be great! Let's get the word out and grow this party.
The more the merrier!

We all love comments, so please visit other links and have fun!

Hits of the Party!

Wow! We had a great party last week!

Let's take a look at a few of the big hits. Remember, I started a board on Pinterest for these features each week. You can follow along Here.

Personalized Scrabble Coasters

My "To Do" List is getting longer and longer. Greg and I love to play Words with Friends so this would be perfect for us!

Oh my gosh, does that look yummy or what?!

DIY Valentine's Day Card Locket Necklace

How sweet. And dainty. And I adore it!

Valentine Rag Heart

This needs to be hanging on my front door. So simple, but oh, so cute!

Burlap and Doily Pillow

I love this marriage of a doily with burlap. Absolutely perfect!

Thank you to each and every one of you who linked up. Let's make this week's party the best ever.

I'll meet you back here later this afternoon to get it started.

Stash Buster: Minky Scarf

My fabric closet is overflowing. One of my goals this year is to try and use up a lot of the perfectly good fabric that I save and stuff in the closet. Some of it is brand new and hasn't even been used and some of it is scraps from other sewing projects.

When I finished Christina's quilt, I had a long remnant of the black minky left and it went in the closet. For about 5 minutes.

I turned back around, grabbed it out of the "dark hole", and made a scarf.

I didn't measure it, but it was 7" wide and one long piece. I put it on top of fleece that I had (from the closet) and cut the fleece the same size as the minky.

I sewed it right sides together with an opening for turning.

Turned it and top stitched around the whole scarf, making sure to catch the opening and sewing it shut as I went.

This took maybe 30 minutes to do and the good thing is that there are 2 less pieces of fabric in the closet!

9 Fun Valentine Ideas

I don't know if it's the extremely cold weather we're having around here or what, but I haven't really thought much about Valentine's Day, yet. Oh, I've got a couple of little things that I'm working on, but nothing finished.

Since Valentine projects seem to be the "in" thing around blogland, I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the projects that I've done in the past. Who knows, maybe this will even inspire me to get busy and finish what I've started for this year. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?!

Printables: Super Bowl Bingo

Do you have plans for the Super Bowl next weekend?

We all go over to Brandon and Christina's (it's becoming a family tradition) to watch the game (and eat!). While the guys are watching the game and some of us are just waiting for the next commercial because that's actually what I'm watching, I thought it would be fun to play a game in between.

I made a Bingo game for us a couple of years ago and it was a pain to do. This year I found a couple of fun Super Bowl Bingo games and they're all ready to be printed out. Score!

Happy Sunday!

Cinnamon Cream Cheese Wraps

If you want to earn some mega brownie points with your family and friends, then you'll want to make them these awesome Cinnamon Cream Cheese Wraps from Niki's Sweet Side.

A friend of mine told me about them and I made them over Christmas and my family went wild.

They're like cinnamon toast on a whole new level!

Have a great Saturday!

CD Sports Clocks

It's been awhile, but I first saw this idea of CD Clocks on Group Deals that they were selling. I thought it was so cute that I decided I could make them myself for so much cheaper.

I don't remember what design it was that they used, but I knew I had to go with sports for Jalynn, Jordyn, and Jace.

If you're like me, you probably have a ton of old CD's laying around.

All you have to do is mod podge the paper of your choice to one side of the CD. I applied the paper to the whole disc and before it dried, cut a slit for the hole and folded it through to the back. Remember that after it dries to seal it with the mod podge and don't forget the folded over little parts on the back.

The only expense you have is the clock works. I found mine at Hobby Lobby and it came in a package of 4. I used my 40% off coupon, so it wasn't expensive at all.

It's easy to install, just a matter of screwing everything on in the order it shows on the package.

You could totally leave the numbers off if you wanted to, but I used stickers that I had.

Less than half the cost of purchasing the clock from somewhere and you can personalize it any way you want. You could even do a photo if you wanted to.

Happy Friday!

It's a Party! #142

Welcome to the party!

Before we get started I want to tell you about a few additions that I've made.

I've started a pin board on Pinterest of the features that I post on Wednesday mornings. I started it last week and it's Here if you want to follow along.

Also, on Saturday's I'm going to share tried and true recipe's that I've found on Pinterest and we all loved. I posted the first one Here and those Buffalo Chicken Cheese Balls were awesome! I'll be sharing Cinnamon Cream Cheese Wraps this Saturday that I made over Christmas and my family went crazy over them.

One more thing and then we'll get this party started. On Sunday's I'll be sharing free printable's that I've found floating around blogland or Pinterest. The first one that I shared Here is my absolute favorite.

Monday - Friday will remain the same with crafts, features, and of course, a party.

Speaking of parties, let's get this one started!

Hello Kitty Necklaces

These necklaces are my kind of craft...

Fast, simple, and fabulous!

You can find what you need to make these necklaces at Wholeport. The bows come in a package of 15 and you can find them Here and the Hello Kitty's are in a package of 10 Here.

Glue the bow on with E-6000 and add a jump ring. That's all there is to it!

I added a chain, but they would be cute on a keychain or tied to a package, too.

It's even cute all by itself without the bow.
(The ribbon cord necklace is also available at Wholeport.)

With all the pieces that you receive in one package, they would make perfect party favors for a little girls birthday party.
